Greek PM speaks to Modi, supports early conclusion of India-EU FTA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a telephone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday, during which the latter extended his country’s support for the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

While sharing warm wishes on the occasion of PM Modi’s birthday, Mr Mitsotakis also extended support for the success of the AI Impact Summit to be hosted by India in 2026.

Both leaders welcomed developments in bilateral relations across various sectors, including trade, investment, technology, shipping, defense, security, connectivity, and people-to-people ties, and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the India-Greece Strategic Partnership.

They also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
